BCFPA Student Speaker's Event - May 17, 2007





Lorraine McIntyre, Food Safety Specialist from the BC Centre for Disease Control maks a noon hour presentation
to a group of students including members of our Student Professional Development Group at the University of British Columbia.




Lorraine spoke about pathogenic organisms responsible for food-borne illness.




Students enjoyed a pizza luch and drinks during the presentation.












Lorraine has student Anita Wan assist with a visual demonstration of a microbiogical technique
for isolating pathogenic organisms for identification.








Anita uses the probe to 'detect' any of the target organisms.
